Double Deck Brownies

DOUBLE-DECK BROWNIES

2/3 cup flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
½ cup margarine, melted and cooled
1/3 cup Baker’s® Angel Flake Coconut
¼ tsp. almond extract
2 squares Baker’s® Unsweetened Chocolate, melted
1 square Baker’s 4 Semisweet Chocolate, melted

Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Beat eggs thoroughly. Gradually add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy. Blend in margarine, and then stir in flour mixture.

Measure ½ cup into small bowl. Stir in coconut and almond extract; set aside.

Add unsweetened chocolate to remain batter; spread in greased 8” square pan. Drop coconut batter by teaspoonfuls over chocolate batter. Then spread carefully to form a thin layer. Bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned.

Cool in pan. Drizzle with semisweet chocolate. Cut into squares or bars.

Makes about 20 brownies
