¾ cup margarine, softened
½ cup sugar
1 egg
½ tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
2 cups flour
1 cup Diamond® Walnuts, finely chopped or ground
1 cup raspberry or apricot jams
In large bowl, cream margarine, sugar, egg, cinnamon, salt and cloves. Blend in flour and walnuts. Set aside about ¼ of dough for lattice top. Pat remaining dough into bottom and about ½” up sides of greased 9” square pan. Spread with jam.
Make pencil-shaped strips of remaining dough, rolling against floured board with palms of hands. Arrange in lattice pattern over top , pressing ends against dough on sides. Bake at 25° for 45 minutes or until lightly
browned. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into 2 dozen bars.
