Favorite Butter Cookies

Cookies
2½ cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup margarine
1 egg
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. orange juice
1 tbsp. vanilla

Frosting:
4 cups powdered sugar
½ cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
3 to 4 tbsp. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring, colored sugars, flaked coconut and cinnamon candies for decorations

For cookies, in large bowl, combine all cookie ingredients. Beat, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 1 to 2 minutes. If desired, divide dough
into 3 equal portions; color 2/3 of dough with desired food coloring. Mix
until dough is evenly colored. Wrap in plastic food wrap; refrigerate until firm, 2 to 3 hours.

On lightly floured surface, roll out dough 1/3 at a time, to ¼” thickness. Cut out with cookie cutters. Place 1” apart on ungreased cookie sheets. If desired, sprinkle colored sugars on some of the cookies or bake and
decorate later. Bake at 400° for 6 to 10 minutes or until edges are
lightly browned. Remove immediately. Cool completely.

For frosting, in small bowl combine powdered sugar, 1/3 cup butter, 3 to 4 tbsp. milk and 2 tsp. vanilla. Beat, scraping bowl often, until fluffy,
1 to 2 minutes. Frost or decorate cookies.

Makes about 3 dozen
