Fresh Sage Popovers

3 eggs, room temp.
1¼ cups milk, room temp.
1¼ cups flour
1½ tsp. fresh sage leaves, rubbed OR ½ tsp. dried sage, crumbled*
¼ tsp. salt

Sage Butter:
½ cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1½ tsp. fresh sage leaves, rubbed OR ½ tsp. dried sage, crumbled*
¼ tsp. white pepper

In small bow, beat eggs until light yellow, 1 to 2 minutes. Add milk; continue beating for 1 minute to incorporate air. By hand, stir in remaining ingredients except Sage Butter Ingredients. Pour batter into greased 6-cup popover pan or 6 custard cups. Bake at 450° for 15 minutes, reduce temperature to 350°. DO NOT OPEN OVEN. Continue baking for
25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

For age Butter, in small bowl, beat all the ingredients until light and fluffy, 1 to 2 minutes; set aside.

Insert knife in popovers to allow steam to escape. Serve immediately with sage butter

Makes 6 popovers *You may substitute your favorite herb for sage, if desired
