¼ cup margarine, softened
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup molasses
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup rye flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
2 cups buttermilk
2 cups coarsely chopped Golden Delicious apples
In large bowl, cream margarine; honey and molasses. In medium bowl, combine flours, cornmeal, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition. Stir in apples.
Pour batter into 2 greased 8 x 4 loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Let cool in pans on wire racks 10 minutes. Loose edges; remove from pans. Cool slightly on wire racks; serve warm
